Starmer called for him to resign if it was true when it initially first came out about the parties . Before boris said anything in parliament etc

I know it's with the benefit of hindsight, and I'm not saying this makes anything more or less justifiable, but why didn't they (the Labour crowd) just pull the blinds down? And if there weren't blinds/curtains, just make sure you're away from the window.
Same with the Tories. Surely nowadays with smartphones, drones etc if you're in an important position you should always have half your mind on the possibility that someone might be recording you, and that said recording might be used against you.

If and I stress if he gets fined his position will be untenable and he will have to resign
