Their principle Trump card seems to be that the meal was listed on a schedule.

Having worked on 100’s of planned events, I can tell you that almost every one will have a list of what is hoped will happen and times. Generally it varies but planning time for food isn’t a crime.

Not seen the list but if it doesn’t list “karaoke and cake BYOB”, it is planning a political event lasting all day.
