Soil pipe too far from wall

Does it matter if it's horizontal or bottom? Presumably if it's horizontal I can just add a 90 degree pipe connector?

yes

if you can get one with a bottom outlet pan that fits straight into that socket, it will work correctly as designed, with no elbows, flexes or pipe changes needed

it will also project into the room less, which in my case was important, though it may not matter to you.

your next job is to find a BO pan with a wall-to-pipe distance near enough to yours.

Hello, I've sorted it out now. The main soil pipe is actually lead which I found out when I took an angle grinder to it! I went to attach a pipe connector but found that it was too wide for the 4 inch lead pipe, so had to get another fitting which was more of a compression coupler designed for clay pipes. The sleeve has a metal collar which you compress onto the pipe with a screwdriver (like the type you fit to earth cables on copper pipe). On the other side you fit standard 110mm pipe.

I then had to use a series of shallow bend fittings and a flexible pan connector to get it back towards the wall, it creates a very shallow s shape which I'm happy with in terms of waste flow, as there are no additional bends than there were before.

At one point I seriously thought to give up and replace the entire stack with pvc, but since the sewer is underground this would be a hassle with unknown variables!

Keep an eye on that, Lead is very soft, I'd personally be wary of relying on the Jubilee Clip on a Flexseal coupling holding it tightly enough to ensure it remains watertight. Ideally you need to cut back to the cast, or a point with more rigidity and connect there in my opinion.

Told you it was in the first thread. Tell you a tale of a lead soil in a similar situation , but @ a posh hotel where I used to work. After I left the place was refurbished. Then water started pouring through the dining room ceiling. Turns out a "plumber" had used a multiquik but because the soil pipe was 3 inch stuffed it inside the outlet. ! No jubilee clip . Anyway they found a plumber who was skilled enough to bell the pipe out to 4 inch and the multi. then fitted into it. Well at least you've got a jubilee clip on the flex seal.
