£100,000,000 for the Royals.

It was a derogatory name for members of the Jewish community. You must know about it - you would have been informed that it had been deleted.

Nope, didn't utter a derogative towards that community...
Well, here’s proof that you did. You were referring to me and one other member on here. Show me the original post if it’s not been deleted.

As I said, Ellal the racist. Fact!

I have to admit I'm not a Royalist. The whole concept doesn't sit easy with me, especially when you realise how these families originally built their wealth, claimed land etc. I don't like the concept of someone 'reigning over me' (as far as I'm concerned no one does and ever will) and when you consider some of them, present day and historically, hardly stand up to scrutiny in terms of their integrity, it simply strengthens my views on the matter.

It's irrelevant to me if they cost £x to the taxpayer but bring in £y (with y being significantly more) it's an outdated concept and I suspect the 'firm' themselves know this, hence the stories about trimming it down, becoming more user friendly etc.

Would I wish any of them harm? Absolutely not. Would I have a transition period after the Queen passes away to essentially abolish the monarchy? Yes.

Oh dear...

mottie once again shows his ignorance...

That phrase doesn't relate to Jews, it's a reference to 'thick as planks'!
(and you didn't spot the word 'brace' - it means a couple of, in other words two)

Of course mottie is a fully paid up member of said 'planks' fraternity as shown below!

"What's the meaning of the phrase 'As thick as two short planks'?
Exceedingly stupid.

What's the origin of the phrase 'As thick as two short planks'?
'Thick' has been used to mean slow-witted or stupid since the turn of the 17th century. Shakespeare used it to good effect in Henry IV, Part. 2, 1600:

As thick as two short planks.
Most of the 'as X as Y' similes refer to some item (Y) and precede it with some property (X) that Y is well-known to posses. Here 'thick' does double duty. It refers to the obvious lack of wit that a piece of wood would display and also to another meaning of thick, that is, 'short and wide'. Planks of wood are wide and the shorted they are the greater their apparent thickness. Two short planks are even thicker.

The expression 'as thick as two short planks', which is sometimes given in the variant form 'as thick as two planks', is of UK origin and dates from the 1970s. The earliest example of it that I know of in print is in Gordon Honeycombe's novel Adam's Tale, 1974. Memory is fallible and plays no useful part in etymology, but I'll mention anyway that I have a clear recollection of hearing it 'in the wild' earlier than that.

The phrase led to the later adoption, also in the UK, of the single word 'plank' to describe someone thought to be stupid."

You've screwed up yet again mottie...

"stupid is as stupid does" is rather apt for you...

Of course if you are a tad 'sensitive', then would 100mm x 50mm be preferable?

Mind you what with your wish to roll back time, then maybe we'll stick to 'imperial'

So you think that a piece of timber 4” x 2” can be described as a plank? Your using a lot of words there trying to dig yourself out of that hole but you are just digging yourself in further. Pull the other one, racist. Twist it any way you like, I know what you meant and so did the mods. Thats why it was deleted.

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks".

Yep...

What would you describe it as?
Your using a lot of words there trying to dig yourself out of that hole but you are just digging yourself in further.
Nope, and it's 'you're' btw...

But I'm not digging a hole, you are...

Simply because someone who believes he has seen racism when it doesn't exist is (how shall we put it delicately?) a racist himself!

A self admitted racist as you mottie have stated on more than one occasion...

Oh, and by the way your sad attempt at gender goading yet again merely reinforces your self admitted misogynistic prejudice...

You need psychiatric help immediately!

.
it's 'you're' btw...
A poor attempt at point scoring. Desperation must be setting in.

What would you describe it as?
I would describe 4” x 2” as a beam, a stud, a joist, sawn timber or basically anything other than a plank. Are there any builders on here that describe that size of timber as a plank? I’ve never heard that size described as a plank. If you were trying to say plank, why choose that particular size? Why not just say plank? No, you know why - you were trying to be clever, you showed your true self and you come unstuck. Do you agree now that your post was deleted?

Oh, and by the way your sad attempt at gender goading yet again merely reinforces your self admitted misogynistic prejudice...
I can see what you are trying to do - signal to the mods that you are being gender goaded in attempt to get my post deleted. It is a well known quote as any mildly educated person would know. Used to describe someone overly trying to backtrack and dig themselves out of a hole.

Give up, you’re a racist and you know it.
