PM hopeful Truss blamed YOU for Britain's failure

in the past kids would be coming out of school into apprenticeships being able to use every single type of hand tool and in the case of my school. Metal lathes /wood working lathes/ band saws /table saws/ pillar drills / smelting equipment / ability to braze/solder as well as various other machines and skills . Today they have to show an apprentice the basics of how to hold a hammer or a saw
Spot on!

The idiot Truss was given her job by Johnson.

He stacked his cabinet with second-class politicians who were either stupid enough to believe his nonsense

Or dishonest enough to pretend that they did.

She's right. British workers are lacking skills compared to foreign workers.
And you are also right...

So many in UK PLC are often being 'mentored' by those who believe it is ok to receive taxpayers' money for work they weren't actually going to do...

Whether that be in the elite educational establishments or dodgy workshops...

Truss has simply revealed herself as another turncoat traitor who hopes to replace the 'on holiday' turncoat traitor...

Both care nothing about anything other than the riches that reaching the highest office (but one) will inevitably provide...

So then mottie...

If you had a vote, would you vote for her?

Absolutely. (y)

Now you answer a question if you have the balls. If you had a vote for anyone from any party, who would you put in office? Let’s see what swervy, avoidance, diversionary reply comes from this. You just know it won’t nail its colours to the mast.

Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you view it, we can't have it both ways. If we want to have a better work life balance, and tbh I'm for that i.e. working to live not living to work, overall productivity very likely won't be as good when compared to countries that value these things less.

There are so many facets to this. People that do live to work often don't mind working longer hours, overtime (even if unpaid) etc. People that are building a business again often don't mind putting the hours in as it's their dream and they have that desire to succeed.

For the masses that work to pay the bills (most of us?) expecting us to do more for no pay increase (or a drop in real term wages) is becoming an ever taller order.

Plenty of strikes doing the rounds at the moment, some justified, some not. I sympathise with the postal workers, haven't had a rise for years. The striking train drivers (even though every lefty on here stated train drivers weren't striking, it was just the lower paid rail workers) shouldn't be afforded sympathy, **** off you're averaging over £60K for a low skilled job.

Productivity in the UK is a problem and it needs to be addressed, unconditionally throwing more money at 'shirkers' isn't going to solve the problem.
Perhaps if their T&Cs weren't eroded, and their concerns after safety were addressed.....

Liz Truss, now the Tory leadership frontrunner, launched an astonishing broadside against British workers, saying they needed “more graft” and suggesting they lacked the “skill and application” of foreign rivals.

One of the Johnson gang, carrying on tory traditions.

"Boris Johnson's Tory Cabinet built round authors who branded Brit workers 'lazy'

Britannia Unchained, written by five members of the PM's Cabinet, slated Brits as the "worst idlers in the world”.

It's just elitism at its best. They think they are superior. Still baffles me why working classes people vote for them. Even Truss' dad is ashamed of her.

Dont see why you think it is astonishing when employers have been saying the same thing for a decade or is bash a tory still the main game in town.

And if their advisors do know better, they're ignored and their advice is kept secret.

The advisors advisors also no nothing and are merely interested in their brown envelope.

What like being able to start a lunch break over again from the beginning if they are spoken to by a manager, nine people required to change a plug socket because the unions won't accept 'multiskilled' teams, claiming 12 minutes walking time for a one minute walk to/from a train?
