should there be limits on how much a tradesman can charge too ?
Yes, the sky.
should there be limits on how much a tradesman can charge too ?
There are some jobs where you are told how long and how much you will be paid, guess you dont mean these though.should there be limits on how much a tradesman can charge too ?
It's easy for anybody to criticise other people's working terms and conditions when you get the details from the press and never having worked the job. There are some jobs where you are told how long and how much you will be paid, guess you dont mean these though.
look how easily the right are brainwashed.lack of incentive but workers attitudes must surely contribute
Like Germany is now.in the past kids would be coming out of school into apprenticeships
Did you listen to her? The contempt for the working classes was clear - she thinks Brits are scum. But we'll all be praising her soon enough.Dont see why you think it is astonishing when employers have been saying the same thing for a decade or is bash a tory still the main game in town.
so they are now following the uk model that was in place decades ago good to see they are copying us shame we seem to have lost the way .Like Germany is now.
Nothing new. 10 years ago she co-authored, "Britannia Unchained", which said pretty much the same thing. FWIW not one of the authors of that trope has any in depth industrial management experience, or any at all.Liz Truss, now the Tory leadership frontrunner, launched an astonishing broadside against British workers, saying they needed “more graft” and suggesting they lacked the “skill and application” of foreign rivals.
As one of those you refer to as the "lefties" I should point out that the initial strike action was indeed by the RMT and TSSA, who represent mainly lower paid rail workers - it was the rabid, carpet munching right wing press (e.g. The Mail, The Express and the Torygraph) who from the off whinged about highly paid rail workers going on strike when ASLEF weren't, at that stage, on strike. I do wish you'd get your facts right. Personally I wish the RMTY and TSSA member well - they have asked for a 9% rise, having had 3 years without a raise, But what you and other carpet munchers won't mention, is that the strike isn't just about money. It is also about passenger safety, job security and conditions of employment with the threat of fire and rehire now being encouraged by Grant Shapps. Maybe if you got off your "righty" arse and went and talked to a few rail workers you'd get a better understanding what this is about - the MSM is yet again telling half-truths and bare-faced liesPlenty of strikes doing the rounds at the moment, some justified, some not. I sympathise with the postal workers, haven't had a rise for years. The striking train drivers (even though every lefty on here stated train drivers weren't striking, it was just the lower paid rail workers) shouldn't be afforded sympathy, **** off you're averaging over £60K for a low skilled job.
And just which "shirkers" are they? And just what have you done in life that makes you so superior to the ordinary working man? Not everyone can work in an office, or set up a business, or be a self-employed tradesman. Not everyone wants to.Productivity in the UK is a problem and it needs to be addressed, unconditionally throwing more money at 'shirkers' isn't going to solve the problem.
Agreed, but that won't grow the economyShe's right. British workers are lacking skills compared to foreign workers. They’ve been made that way in the drive for academic success. Kids leave school nowdays without ever been given the opportunity to see what is involved in manual trades. They need to bring back vocational skills in school curriculums.
Which "Lucky Bag" did you get that from? When did you last work that you think such things exist in the workplace in 2022? You really need to stop believing everything you read in the Mail - a lot of it isn't true. In my working life NONE of what you talk about has existed. Maybe in one or two car factories 40 years ago, but not now. What like being able to start a lunch break over again from the beginning if they are spoken to by a manager, nine people required to change a plug socket because the unions won't accept 'multiskilled' teams, claiming 12 minutes walking time for a one minute walk to/from a train?
Maybe even a @gone what ever he does for a living.

It's probably not worth mentioning that from the 1990s until 2007 under both the Tories and Labour this country managed a reasonable 2% or so growth in GDP every year, with growth returning to that within about 18 months of the crash right up to when the Tories came into office in 2010 -
You do know the Express tells lies, don't you? Do you actually know anyone who works for the railways? Probably not.RMT slammed for striking over outdated rules
RAIL UNIONS have been slammed for bringing chaos to transport links across the nation and bringing places to a standstill over outdated rules.www.express.co.uk
So. You are a tradesman. Most people who call themselves artisans in this part of the world as fraude. You aren't a fraud are you. Either way not everyone has the chance or ability to be a tradesman. Or even an artisanSelf employed artisan, if I don't work, I don't eat.
So what. How have your golden boys performed since 2010 in comparison to other equivalent European economies, e.g,. France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, etc. They haven't performed at all well, and Britain's economy is in freefall right now whilst other European economies are growing. Whose fault is that? It is now 2022 - you can't keep saying that everything is the fault of the government before you when they left office 12 years ago2010, the year after the global financial crash, when Liam Byrne left a note for the incoming Tory govt saying 'I'm sorry, there's no money left'.
