Is there such a thing as heating engineers anymore?

Been trying all year to get someone to carry out some work on my heating system (conventional with tanks in loft). Heating and hot water work fine just continual air in system and sludge so more preventative. All these companies, usually those made redundant from BG, just want to rip everything out and replace with a combi. Annoying

Yes plenty of engineers/plumbers about who’d happily work on your system without trying to upgrade/convert to a combi, although probably harder to find. Quite a few on this site who have that ethos.

I look after 4 open vented CH systems for clients, great system that have been in for years.
I’ve been told in the past a combi isn’t suitable with 3 bathrooms. Is that still the case or have things changed?
