Hello,

I have an old conventional heating system. I drained the system to replace old valves. Once all radiator valves were installed the system was turned back on by (Water mains). The heaters are working a treat, the only issue is that there is not HOT water at all. No water is flowing only the cold tap. I only turned off the mains to the water supply I have not done anything else.
What could it be ? (blocked air?how do i sort it?)
My heating system is a old conventional type with one top up tank in the loft and a storage cylinder in the toilet. Boiler and pumpp and everything seem to be working fine...

Please help

Thanks in advance ....

You have an air lock. You need to use mains pressure cold water to blow it back up the pipes.

If you have hot and cold washing machine valves, you can connect a hot to cold with one of the plastic pipes. Or. attach a garden hose from outside tap or kitchen cold tap to a hot tap.

If you have mixer taps, try holding a damp cloth very firmly to cover the spout. Then turn on both taps, hot first.
