Bod: Football is corrupt at the FIFA/EUEFA levels in my opinion, but I was struck by the IOC (not football obvs) guy talking about Russia on telly saying, "When governments begin to decide who takes part in sport, it's the end of sport."

Whilst he is undoubtedly in my view, totally bent, I had to have a think about what he said...

When governments decide to commit human rights abuse or instigate illegal wars, it involves the ending of lives!

So I guess it depends on where your priorities lie...

Nothing has changed in Qatar since the World Cup. All that 'awareness raised', for what...?

Spot on. And what's Harry Kane or Gary Lineker doing now after they educated Qatar

The Norwegian government I think was the only government that opposed the Qatar world cup.

Elle Arafat backed the Tory government and the FA in sending our boys to represent us.

Same as Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling, among others: raking it in. Still. (y)
Mason mount is a wet sock.

As for the budgie:
Harry Maguire moaning about armed men breaking into Raheems house while they were trying to win the world cup for us all.

Yet forgets that days earlier they were bending the Knee for a man who used to break into people's houses with a loaded gun for a living.

I hope that the 'holier than thou' mob don't ever shop in Sainsbury's...

Or bank with Barclays

Or fly with any airline under the IAG banner, including 'British' airways...

Etc etc...

Qatar money ;)

Would you care to wander around your house and tell us what you have bought/own that doesn't have 'made in china' on them

Are you saying you have nothing in your house from China? TV, laptops, clothes, tablets, firestick, domestic appliances, mobile phone, anything remotely electrical? What about your covid and antibody tests - where did they come from?

Premier League tightens ownership rules to stop human rights abusers running a club - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65128593

Yet its OK for our nation team to play in tournaments run by human rights abusers
If you ban every competitor on the grounds of the perceived sins of their governments, then you mights as take up tiddly winks, as there wil be nothing else.

Why would I claim that?

Quite the opposite...

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of some ;)

Britain of course never embarked on illegal wars or committed human rights abuses?

The truth is that the standard of living of people in what is loosely known as the 'West' is based on cheap labour in the east.
The standard of living of the middle and upper classes in Europe and America was at one time based on indigenous cheap labour, as universal suffrage and labour unionisation progressed, manufacturers started looking further afield for cheap labour.

But Gary Harry & Co went out to educate.

Did they achieve this?
What are they doing now?
