Though no actual smoking gun, other than the notes. The criminal psychiatrist suggested the notes might have been a result of her being under such massive stress, from the accusations.

One was a written confession that she did it. The jury looked at all of the evidence before reaching their conclusion.

This is completely in my opion, but throughout the trial, I have been imagining myself in her position (assuming that the deaths and injuries were a terrible coincidence).
As @denso13 says above, there has been more to it, but if my world was falling apart because of these horrific incidents happening around me, I might also be writing post-it-notes saying what have I done, I may also be searching social media. I would have lost control and may have been resigned to my fate, even though I was innocent.
However, what swung it for me, was seeing her police interview.
I could imagine all of this happening to me as a coincidence, and I would be an absolutely broken person - after all that, I couldn't imagine me being as calm and controlled as she was in that interview.

Are you really saying they had no other evidence, at all, and the jury only convicted her because she was there at the time?
I hope you're not trivialising violent attacks, which might leave someone scarred for life, not to mention the extreme pain.

Imprisonment is the punsihment.
They're sent to prison as punishment, not for further punishment.
If criminals expect violence in prison, it will generate a whole new type of violent prisoner and prisons.
Rehabilitation will be a distant memory.
It's a violent attack.
What would you call it if a man throws acid in a woman's face.
A multiple baby killer is beyond rehabilitation. Only a **** would think otherwise.
**** me you probably think Fred and Rose West are a decent couple.
You're conflating support of a baby killer with the objection to summary violence.
There's a difference, You just can't, or won't see it.
When we start turning a blind eye to, or trivialising summary violence, society will breakdown into chaos.
