Karcher K7 Reel problem

My Karcher had been working perfectly well up until recently.
The reel to wind in the hose suddenly became ultra stiff.
The next time I used it it went back to being really easy to turn and then it reverted back to ultra stiff.
I’ve tried wd40 but this doesn’t help and the reel really screeches when I force a turn.
Anybody got any suggestions?

Thanks for that reply ,but it’s the reel that’s stiff . Removing the hose will not make any difference.

Just to confirm - you are turning it off, and squeezing the lance trigger, to release the entire pressure in the hose?

If its plastic and two halves join in the middle they can give way or sag.

Yes. I have turned it off and let the water out of the hose.
