Painting walls and ceilings white with a roller- I'm ok, get a good finish. But the join at the ceiling where the roller can't get to- what IS the best way to finish that; and should it be before or after the roller? Been doing this for years, but never quite satisfied with the finish.

Thanks.

PS, same colour, obviously.

Are you painting the walls the same colour as the ceiling?

(If not)... As a decorator, I normally roll the first coat on the walls, then cut in using a 3 inch brush, and then repeat.

It all depends on the paint though. Some are less forgiving than others. When working with more awkward emulsions, I may cut in first and then roll. With really awkward paints, I will add loads of retarder and do both as I work along the wall.
