Electric shower running cooler now

Hi, my redring shower has been pretty reliable for 20 years(i know lol), ive had to replace the heating element in the past, that was because shower was running stone cold,now suddenly im having to turn the shower temperature dial to its highest setting instead of its usual 2 or 3 to get warmth, which reduces water pressure obviously, any thoughts, as i say im used to the heating element packing up completely but not this new phenomenon, thanks in advance

Hi, is it possible that the electric shower has 2 heating elements ( ie 4kW + 4kW = 8kW shower) and that just one element has failed ?

Thanks for reply, its a redring 500, im no expert but i think its a single 7.2 element

It could just be a limescale build up in the tank, rock is harder to heat than water.

Could be the inbuilt thermostat

Thanks for all the repies, its probably at a point now where its easier to replace, even element replacement looking at 80 odd quid lol

But it has an element so what controls the flow temperature
