They Shoot Horses, don't they?

In your opinion.

Please provide suitable evidence
It's self evident that if something is legalised, or there is a change in enforcement policy, public attitudes will evolve.

Religion can be taken out of the argument...

Not by people who have a religious belief. It's no good citing your atheism on the proposed legislation as it should be designed to take in to account both sides of the argument on the existence of God.

There is no proof and never has been proof of an imaginary friend...

I have no 'proof' you exist either.:D

The pressure to speed up dying happens now.

Have a look at the Liverpool pathway

So it’s not an argument against the bill
Liverpool pathway was mismanagement and in some cases neglect.

Well if the imaginary friend(s) cares to reveal him/her/their self/selves then there could be a debate to be had...

But since that will never happen, then we are left with this...

Real people are dying in pain and despair, and fairy tales won't change that...

Sane rational human beings, who as even irrational god botherers have admitted have been given the right of free will, should be able to do the right thing and give their fellow human beings the choice!

not necessarily with the outcome you have decided will happen

please provide supporting evidence for your assertion

Would you argue against the change in attitudes as regards the smoking legislation has had over recent years?

For better or worse would you say?

You I fear have a disregard for the ability of people when fully informed to make a rational choice for whatever is best for them...

I believe otherwise!

it was shocking what happened, I can see why you are questioning the ability of the NHS to implement the assisted dying bill correctly

Liverpool Pathway
they put people on it without telling them or relatives, and they incentivised hospitals to do it

"The BBC investigation found that some hospitals were offered money to meet targets in relation to LCP"

"More than 10,000 patients in the region have been put on the Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP) in the last three years,"

Well if the imaginary friend(s) cares to reveal him/her/their self/selves then there could be a debate to be had...

Wait til you're faced with a terminal illness: perhaps then, you'll see the light...

Real people are dying in pain and despair, and fairy tales won't change that...

You work in a care home, i hear; surely someone in your care has taken comfort from their religion at some point during their time there?

And the LCP was discontinued in favour of a 'personalised end of life plan'...

But neither are/were a robust law based system...

That is what is needed.

As for the ability of the NHS to implement things correctly...

It has to be set in law, otherwise there would be a repeat of the chaos during the 'virus' outbreak and issuing of DNAR's!

A word of advice...

Ignore the desperate lies of mottie ;)

Wait til you're faced with a terminal illness: perhaps then, you'll see the light...
As I said before, life is a terminal illness...

And in order to enjoy that terminal illness I saw the 'light' many years ago...

Stephen Fry put it much better than I could...

“The moment you banish him [God], your life becomes simpler, purer, cleaner, more worth living" :)

Thus I am not under the control that god botherers are...

And as such they (who are in the minority in the UK) should not be allowed to deny the choice to the majority!

The debate is surely about how far the state/government interferes on matters of personal choice

The debate is surely about how far the state/government interferes on matters of personal choice
The point is this bill is allowing people to make that personal choice...

Denying people that choice is the interference!

You simply don't get it do you
