Hello all, DIY Journeyman here
I have recently gotten the hang of the art of drilling into masonry and mounting things on walls, it feels like a whole new world is open to me. I can hang shelves, curtains, anything! I've already hung some curtains

Now, for a stylistic choice, i have an idea for my bedroom. I'd like to hang two entirely seperate sets of curtains, layered over each other, on seperate rods, with one sticking out farther than the other so that they don't touch much. I estimate that to achieve this, i'd need about three inches of clearance between the inner and outer set

But i'm not sure how i might do this, or what i'd need .I can get curtain brackets easily enough, but they're all kinda similar in length, and i'm not sure how i'd find or make a set that sticks out farther than usual. Perhaps some kind of block or platform drilled into the wall for the outer set to be mounted to?

I need some ideas here, how would you do two sets of curtains?

You can buy double layer pole curtain rails. Alternatively just fit a conventional plastic rail on the wall and then have a pole rail offset from the wall.

unfortunately, the curtains i want to use are both pole based, so the second option is out

as for the first, double pole rails seem absurdly expensive, its a lot extra to pay to save the effort and complexity of doing it yourself.

But i'd LIKE to do it myself, i am interested in learning and developing my skills!

They aren't that expensive..... we used this in a room
