"On his first day back in office, the new US president wasted no time delivering on a promise he made last year: to dismantle what he has described as a mandate to sell electric cars.

Donald Trump, who had said such measures were needed to save the US car industry from “complete obliteration”, has ordered his administration to eliminate electric vehicle mandates and undo regulations governing automotive pollution and fuel-economy standards. The directive also calls for regulators to consider eliminating unfair subsidies that favour EVs over other technologies. Repercussions could extend well beyond the US to global carmakers and battery manufacturers."

Oops! What are those Europeans going to do now with all those gigafactories now? Maybe they could be repurposed as migrant holding centres?

EV's won't be going away, Musk will still sell plenty, other countries will probably look at pulling out of the race to the bottom with net zero. It's even possible VW won't go bust if Germany follow suit.

I hate to disappoint you guys but Europe will probably follow suit.

Good old Donald, drill baby drill..

I wonder if we'll get the just stop oil muppets out on our streets again to protest about Trump's decisions?

No need for EV subsidies anymore, they are basically the same price now.

Scrapping them helps musk as Tesla have the lead.

Trump has also signed some AI deals that make Starmer’s speech rather irrelevant.

Yes, it was quite forward thinking of Keir and Rachel from accounts to not invite Musk to the UK International Investment Summit recently.
It's almost as if they lie in bed together at night dreaming up ways to ***k the UK. They're certainly achieving their aim.

U is a bit fick innit.

A tw@t in Anerica might not want E cars, but in Europe they are growing fast

Here is some data:

It is expected to exhibit a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.15% between 2025 and 2029, resulting in a projected market volume of US$383.4bn by 2029. By 2029, the unit sales of Electric Vehicles market in Europe are expected to reach 5.63m vehicles

Poor Mottie, wrong again. How embarrassing for you eh

That will depend if Notchy and Denso have booked any time off.
I don’t agree with JSO

Oil will be needed for at least the next 50 years being as we are so reliant on oil as a base for so many chemicals.

The U.K. is out of the EU's control but you lot wont stop going on about it!
No it’s not.

42% of UK exports go to EU.

and we are highly dependent on imports from EU

We have a trade agreement that is dependent on a level playing field, we don’t have dynamic alignment but any serious divergence and the tariff free agreement would end.

Poor Mottie, wrong again….I’m sure you will be right about something one day.

Ps: have you come up with any evidence for your “Jew hater” smears yet.

Here we go. Post after post from Notch. Looks like I’ve triggered him again. :ROFLMAO:

P.S. Notch. Have you come up with any evidence for your "Muslim hater" smears yet?
