The Far-right Delusion

No it’s not my opinion.

Culture wars are a key strategy of right wing populism.

It’s not hard too see the inflammatory language and the headlines…..it almost all comes from the right.

If you want we can go through all the culture war campaigns pushed by the Conservatives, Reform, Trump etc and compare it to the left.
Deary deary me. ALL sides are involved in culture wars, ALL use it to push their agenda.

What do you think of as left wing culture wars. Would tearing down statues and changing street names be examples?

Deary deary me ...

Let me ask you a question. Do you think only right wing leaning people/groups/political parties use culture to drive their narrative?

Not at all! What did I write which made you think that?

I was asking you a serious question. It wasn't a trick :)

I just wanted to discuss some examples of left wing culture wars because it's not something I know much about and when I looked on Wikipedia it was a bit vague.

Others argue that it is the left who are engaging in "culture wars", particularly against liberal values, accepted words, and British institutions

Where is your evidence the NHS is “an absolute shambles of in efficiency”
I worked in the NHS for about 5yrs back in the nineties, so have seen it first hand.
The biggest indicator though is that it's run by governments.
They do have a bit of a track record in making a shambles of most things they get involved with long term.

You seem very confused

The tight don’t use culture wars to “push their agenda”

The right use culture wars as a distraction…..the right don’t want Joe Public to realise they are having their lives made worse by free market neo liberalism, so they scream: “oh look over there, unisex toilets”

And it works, you’ve been taken in.

here ya go,, learn about the insidious dangers of populism

That isn't what's making lives worse ;)

What percentage of private companies make a shambles of their chosen business and go t!ts up, "long term"?
Loads.
The number would be very few indeed though, if they had a monopoly on the service/product, and infinite money to support it whilst also not needing to make a profit.

Essentially, yes. From what I have been reading, it seems that right wing politicians will take relatively small issues which they don't actually care about, and blow them out of all proportion in a very aggressive way. It usually involves attacking minority groups who are already unpopular. Trump is obviously a master at this. I am finding it more difficult to find examples of how the left use culture wars. I did try to get a discussion going above, but it didn't get very far.

Exactly - the records do not go back far enough. And by the way part of the scam is that its CO2 that is the problem, which is the only way they are grifting the man made rubbish.

By preserving evidence of ancient temperatures and greenhouse gases, ice cores show scientists how much our planet has changed. Although the period documented by ice cores is unimaginably long by human standards—up to 800,000 years with isolated older samples as of this writing—it is a very short interval of the planet’s 4.5-billion-year history.

"...ice cores, combined with other paleoclimate records, reveal how much and how quickly human activity has warmed Earth’s climate. The changes in greenhouse gas concentrations and global temperatures have occurred in less than a few centuries—after more than 100 centuries of stable conditions.

Since the start of the Industrial Age, however, human-caused greenhouse-gas emissions have steadily raised CO2 concentrations. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Global Monitoring Laboratory reports that, as of the week beginning February 26, 2023, CO2 emissions stood at 421.91 parts per million. Compared to ancient atmospheric composition, today’s atmosphere has more carbon dioxide, and that carbon dioxide has a smaller proportion of carbon-14. Both these facts show the effect of human activity and the burning of massive amounts of fossil fuel.

this is what has made the lives of ordinary British citizens much worse:

don’t want Joe Public to realise they are having their lives made worse by free market neo liberalism

diy fun thinks unisex toilets and the pride flag that has caused people’s wages to stagnate for 15 years and made houses unaffordable

Don’t be uninformed like diy fun

Would you consider yourself as a progressive?
