"Stupid and white" is not a racial attack.

Not as loaded said the defence, but ultimately the jury decided. Didn't another Chelsea player get off with far worse language a few years back?

Grace Forbes, defending the footballer, told jurors on Monday: 'Nobody disputes the words that were said.

'But simple words, even words like these, do not make you guilty of a criminal offence.'

'The words were a comment, however poorly expressed, about positions of power, about privilege and how those things might colour perception.

'Sam Kerr did not feel hostile towards this officer, because he is white.

Having watched an extended video, that seems to be a very good summary. She didn't say the words with malice, but with weary resignation.

Indeed...

Of course the fundamentalist 'white ones' couldn't possibly understand the day to day hassles of a 'non white' person

You’re right, it must be hard work being a Chelsea striker…

Add in a bit of casual racism

That’s a pretty racist comment right there.
Nope...

It's a statement of reality...

Unless of course you cling on to the belief that ethnic minorities don't suffer regular discrimination?

You’re suggesting that someone can’t understand the daily hassles faced by a non-white person because of the colour of their skin.

Being stupid has nothing to do with skin colour.

"Being stupid has nothing to do with skin colour."
