"Stupid and white" is not a racial attack.

Indeed...

Of course the fundamentalist 'white ones' couldn't possibly understand the day to day hassles of a 'non white' person
What hassles???
Where do you live???
Uk must be one of the top 3 most inclusive places on earth and you want me to believe that non white people have hard time everyday???
I'm in contact with non white people and they don't struggle; in fact, they've been doing well all their life and have friends from all backgrounds.
Some of them are married to white people.
Your problem is that YOU like to moan and claim that you're hassled by white people and the system in general.
This is just a lot of boll@x.
Most non white people enjoy life in our mixed society.
BTW, if you don't like it here, why don't you go somewhere else?

"Being stupid has nothing to do with skin colour."

So is stupid, drunk, uncouth, racist, black, entitled lesbian but do you think a policeman could have got away with calling her that?

But I think context is important. If instead of saying that the policeman was "stupid and white" she had said "I think you are a stupid man who is treating me less favourably because of my skin colour and is displaying white privilege". Would that second statement be racist?

I don't want to get into a discussion about whether white privilege exists :) I am just interested in whether, taken on its own merits, people would find that statement racist. With reasons!

PMSL...

The usual response of a clueless racist when they've been called out as such!
You're the one claiming tg hat everybody is against non whites.
As this is clearly not the case in UK, I invited you to go somewhere else.
And...Immediately you used the racist card against me, not knowing what colour I am or anything else about me.
Nice one.
Keep shouting racism at every opportunity and then when real racism happens nobody will listen.
Crying wolf I think it's called.

the concept of "white privilege" is racist. Accusing the police of being institutionally racist isn't.

Those who argue "white privilege" should go in to any university and talk to white, males from middleclass backgrounds and ask them if they have been profiled negatively when applying for graduate positions or internships. Some even want to know if you got free schools meals.

Many job adverts have positive discrimination policies.

But going back to my question, if she had phrased herself better, like in the example I gave, would you consider that a racial attack? I am asking because this cuts to the heart of the court case.

Well it is clearly the case...

And go where?

Leave the 'master race' in charge with no opposition?

You might not think you are a racist, but I suggest you take a good long hard look in your mirror!

You've actually asked two different questions:

It's not illegal to be racist or make racist remarks, in her case she was making a statement prejudiced by her racist views. That's not unlawful.

The prosecution, as far as I can tell were going for Section 4A of the Public Order Act 1986. IME It was a stretch and it seemed the Jury agreed:

4 Fear or provocation of violence.

(1) A person is guilty of an offence if he—

(a)uses towards another person threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or

(b)distributes or displays to another person any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting,

with intent to cause that person to believe that immediate unlawful violence will be used against him or another by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by that person or another, or whereby that person is likely to believe that such violence will be used or it is likely that such violence will be provoked.

'Everybody'?

Show me where I'm claiming that...

You won't because you can't!
Just look at your post above.
Implying is the word that fits here.
Same as when people tell you that you do not comprehend a simple concept: they're implying that you are stupid without saying "stupid".
Well it is clearly the case...

Yes, it is clearly the case.
I don't see non white people in ghettos unable to work.
I don't see signs outside shops saying "white people only".
I don't see only white people in "higher" positions.
And how come non whites have made it to Parliament and even become PM if this country offers them nothing more than hassles???
You're a disgrace to the people fighting discrimination.
People like you make a mockery of serious problems.
Are you sure you're not himmy, the racist bigot in drags?

Reading what you write on the forums i would say that it is you that is clearly the racist!!!
