Has he stepped down as an MP ?
Not that I’ve heard as yet.
Or does he think he can be an MP still?
Crims can run their "businesses" from behind bars, so I don't see why not

The judge was probably a Tory voter.Bit of a comedown from MP to jailbird

Agree. If he was my MP I would be organising a recall petition immediately
Agree.
Not fit to be an MP

Being a convicted criminal (other than self defence etc) should remove any right to be an MPA recall petition shouldn’t be necessary - the criminal conviction should immediately get him removed as an MP with no compensation, nor pension rights
As I understand it that is the case if the sentence is more than12months imprisonment. That would have been justified given the aggravating factor that he was a drunk MP, but he wasn't charged with abh so max sentence is six months.A recall petition shouldn’t be necessary - the criminal conviction should immediately get him removed as an MP with no compensation, nor pension rights

Just like other MPs who have been insideJust said on the radio Amesbury will continue receiving his MP salary whilst in prison.

what judge? it was a magistrates court and he pleaded guilty. The judge was probably a Tory voter.
I don't think he should have been jailed.
The defence asked for bail, pending appeal, the judge said no.
