Parliament has to vote it through….so with a big majority the executive have a lot of leverage to,push through legislation although we do have the Lords who can reject stuff.

they can send it back, but if parliament sends it back again, thats basically it. Rightly so, Lords are unelected.

they used to be landed gentry and religious leaders. I'd like to see them reduced by the 100s. MPs too.

This is the problem with putting these sorts in prison. They don't believe that they should get the same sentence as any of us. Appealing his sentence hoping to be let off as he has had a day in prison now and it is enough. I hope he doesn't get a reduced sentence. The man is a thug.

thats true but the Lords can keep sending it back

the Lords might be unelected but they often do improve legislation and hold govt / parliament to account

I agree its far from satisfactory, its a system that can be manipulated and is by both sides............and by those rich enough to effectively buy their way in like Lord of Siberia
