Stop lying your digging bigger holes than nosenought try reading the bond rules . Look pretending you have money will not compensate your small penis complex.
premium bond rules do not prevent husband and wife having £50k each

if you think otherwise lets see your evidence

Looking at the 'Overarching Equalities Statement' from the Sentencing White Paper, it looks as though this was in response to the Lammy Review:

'Where relevant to the White Paper proposals our equalities considerations have included the recommendations from the Lammy Review to ‘explain or reform’ any disparity in outcomes for BAME users of the Criminal Justice System.'

Sunshine read something in the Telegraph and believed it without checking whether it was true or not. It wasnt.

Sunshine wont come back and admit that it has nothing to do with the Labour govt

What the f are you ranting about now. It is clear that Labour have been gunning for special treatment for BAME offenders for a long time and now have the opportunity to implement it because they are in power.

Only in GD could an argument about sentencing policy morph into one about premium bond holdings. Can we all agree on raising the bond holding limits, if not sentences?

the title of this thread is "two tier Keir strikes again"
the sentencing council is entirely independent so its got FA to do with Labour

why are you being so dishonest?

Yes.

It is a quango. The Equalities Statement from the 2020 Sentencing White Paper was in response to The Lammy Review in 2017. David Lammy of Labour. The minutes of the meeting in Post #15 show no objections were made when these sentencing guidelines were discussed. If Shabana Mahmood believes in what she says in Post #11, she and Labour have the ability to change the law with the backing of the Conservatives:
why are you being so dishonest?
Dishonest about what exactly.

Sentencing decisions need greater scrutiny, but judges
must also be equipped with the information they need.
It is the role of the Probation Service to provide judges
with pre-sentence reports (PSRs), which set out greater
information about the character and circumstances of an
offender (see box on next page). These reports ‘assist the
court in determining the most suitable method of dealing
with an offender’156 – and may be particularly important for
shedding light on individuals from backgrounds unfamiliar
to the judge. This is vital considering the gap between
the difference in backgrounds – both in social class and
ethnicity – between the magistrates, judges and many of
those offenders who come before them.

This will be why this is happening. The Lammy review commissioned by Cameron and May found massive disparities in some sentencing decisions. PSRs are the way to try to select the appropriate sentence approach. So they recommended PSRs for minority groups.

But what if, just for the sake of argument, it was shown that BAME offenders were being sentenced more harshly. Would these PSR rules be one way of addressing that? I believe the quote from the full report I posted earlier might be saying that, although I found it quite confusing!

Yes and double prizes for winners in the North

It is a quango set up whilst Blair's Labour was in power. The Equalities Statement from the 2020 Sentencing White Paper was in response to The Lammy Review in 2017. David Lammy of Labour. I had never heard of the Lammy review. Thanks for that. I find it a bit strange that David Cameron and Theresa May would set up a review and get an opposition MP to head it up. I wonder if that has happened before?

No
It’s not a quango
It was set up in April 2010 so not Blair
And it has nothing to do with your original claim of “2 tier sentencing

Dishonest about what exactly
you started this thread for the purpose of claiming there are sentencing rules in place that give easier sentencing to ethnic minorities and that was a policy introduced by Labour.

That is untrue, so by definition you are being dishonest

I concede I made a mistake with the dates.
Conservatives were in power
They aren't in power now. Labour is. Keir Starmer is PM.

I started a thread showing how the UK sentencing system is going to be tiered differently due to the ethnic, cultural and faith of offenders as evidenced by the Telegraph article and MP Robert Jenrick. Changes are due to be implemented in April unless there is intervention.
