Why is Trump so keen on Putin

Do you know how long it takes to replenish arms that once lost cannot be replaced overnight. It takes years to arm an army to be battle ready. We have been depleting our army and its weapon systems for years. Now we realise this was a massive mistake.

Which is why we need to get on with re-arming right now. Putin is going to be re-arming like mad. We need to be ready for Russia to try again in a few years time.

If Europe decides it is in their interest to stand up to Russia, do you agree that they could raise the money? Mainly by borrowing.

How could it be in Europe's interest, what does Europe stand to gain?

I am really talking about the longer term defence of Europe.

I don't see any hope of kicking Russia out of Ukraine.

Who said that? Can you not stick to the subject rather than jump around all over the place? First it was money, then it was too dangerous and now it's WW3.
Endless whataboutery…..it’s what people do when they can’t support their argument.

So you want WW3?
If Ukraine had become a NATO member then Putin wouldn’t have invaded at all

Or if the West had acted decisively and provided everything to Ukraine at the beginning Putin would’ve been pushed out by now.

Your argument that surrendering to Putin means no escalation is false, the opposite is true: being strong against Putin stops war

Like almost everyone else, I am struggling to keep up with what's going on.

My feeling right now is that I would like to see a Korea type arrangement. With the battle frozen. Ukraine doesn't need to officially give away the occupied land.

There is talk of Europe being able to provide 120 modern fighters jets to enforce a no fly zone.

Then a force of twenty thousand peace keepers.

We should arm Ukraine to the teeth.

And re-arm Europe massively to cover for what USA can no longer be relied on to provide.

Yes, even giving Ukraine enough to defend the current front line would be a start. No one is talking about invading Russia.

Thorougjly unsatisfactory actions are the only options afaI can see. No real "solutions".

Like Zelensky, what I want, isn't available.

Nobody but Ukraine would be surrendering. We are not at war with Russia.

No you are wrong, you have seen nothing of the Russian army so far. If Nato had stepped in at the begining the you would have seen the Russian army. Take a look at Afghanistan,

Where are they all?

Take a look at Aleppo in Syria, Putin told all of the West to vacate and they rightly did so. They literaly destroyed it
