Here are some facts:

1) EU has a 10% most favoured nation (MFN) tariff on cars. As there’s no bilateral trade agreement with USA their car imports attract 10% tariff

2) US imposes 25% tariff on pickup trucks - the largest segment of the USA auto trade market.

3) BMW make X3 and X5 in America and pay 10% import tariff into EU and they still do ok


Not many American cars are sold in Europe, mostly because they are sh1t

Traditional US manufacturers don't even really try to sell their cars here because they know nobody wants them. They are definitely a bit crap. But not as bad as they used to be, by all accounts.

I actually had one, I loved it but it did have a few problems so I sold it. But then I have had lots of cars with problems over the years
