you do realise it involves 9 countries including us and few other european countries and there is an 8 year weighting list so will it really make any difference,
And they hadnt actually signed any deal for them yet so how can you cancel something you havent ordered ?

The VAT issue is a massive red herring regarding unfair competition, which is what these tariffs are all about, because it also affects domestic producers.

I don't understand it all. If Brummie motors Ltd imports a car from US they pay the tariff. when they sell it to Jasper Carrot they charge VAT..
Can Brummie motors claim the tariff as an Input tax and put it against something else? I don't know.
Same if you buy steel and make a fridge with it.
Cars are really complex with bits being made everywhere. "British" cars like Jags are seen as unreliable compared with American ones by Americans. Jag was bought by Ford, then it went to Tata?? Can't keep up.

It's a gesture thing, Portugal has so little money it makes F all difference where they get either of the 2 planes they'll order.

I just checked. Tha smartest best Drones cost as much or more than the most expensive fighters, highest I saw was $250m which is double an F-35.
The B2 Stealth thing is/was almost hand built - they're each different from their siblings, and needing around $2bn for each one you foster.

The point of the article is that drones got expensive but then they got cheap in mass production.. One F35 would buy 55,000 DJI Mavics like Ukraine is using.
I dunno where this will end - will everyone have 10 million drones to use?
