• Bought new intercom but does not come with "lock controller" shown below
• I wired a 12v power adaptor exactly as shown circled in image, but instead of connecting to a lock, the 2 wires were connected to a multimeter
• Multimeter shows 12v coming through cable when connected directly and 0v when connected as circled in yellow
• Using the keyfob or wall unit to "release"/unlock door makes the device "click" and then click again as if it is opening a switch then closing it, but no power gets released according to multimeter
• I tried plugging it into the other 2 sockets and switching polarity but with no effect

Any advice please? The way I understand the connection is one wire from the 12v supply goes directly to door lock and the other feeds into doorbell unit and then back out into the door lock; the door release button allows power through thus giving the door lock power to open.

The clicking is presumably a relay, which is a good sign. If I were you, I’d set the multimeter to ohms (continuity) and put it directly across the NO/COM terminals on the unit and see what happens. Do you have the right connector for that terminal? Was it fitted properly?

That’s unwise; you shouldn’t apply voltages to terminals that aren’t expecting them, something could fail.

That sounds right.

I tried it again and it now works. I perhaps had a faulty cable or the wago connector had not gripped it correctly
