They are very strong, but if you hit them in your car, they are installed so that they go over in the same way as others. We have people trying to commit suicide by driving into the big motorway signs that you see, they are designed to collapse on impact. It is a shame when you see someone in such a state and on top of their problems they have just wrote their car off rather than killing themselves.

It could have been even lower. Israel are/were in complete control of Gaza and could easily have done it differently. But they chose not to.
