the trade war heats up: China stops exports of gallium, germanium, antimony, graphite, and tungsten to USA

Yeah let's have a military alliance. But first agree to be subjucated to the European courts and hand over you're fishing grounds.
The myth of eu subjugation, we still have the legislation ten years after the referendum, torey crooks need it. We took on an extreme implementation of the human rights directive - how do you think Italy banned abortion and France banned the burkka if so called human rights were completely protected. Bliar just shoved everything in the pot to keep the left of his party happy. As for the rest what's wrong with protecting the rights of people in custody or free speech. Even VP OTUS believes in that - he has to, his boss has been in court so many times.

No, it's just a coincidence that we followed his lead and will probably continue to do so, as will Europe.
A bit like when France consolidated their abortion laws. Good ole Trump and his mob, encouraging Europe to do the opposite. (y)

Trumpf was elected to lower prices and improve the economy but he creates economic instability and international upheaval in the markets. The Dems are biding their time and will get swept in, unless he manages to fix the Constitution.

From the Constitution: "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice..." Clear language but already teams of lawyers are preparing the legal challenge.

Even if he manages to change the constitution (which he wont) he would still need to be elected. You must think he's doing really well if you're concerned about a third term. ;)

It could end up like a Putin/Medvedev scenario.

Nothing would actually surprise me at the moment. Especially if Trump ends up under criminal investigation again.

Trump is dismantling the organisation that is in charge of election cyber security. He is sanctioning lawyers who oppose him and is ignoring court orders. He is replacing top civil servants with those who have sworn allegiance.

Even serious right wing commentators in the USA are worried.

What makes you think he's not plotting a Putin style, dictator work-around , whilst his grubby lawyers are doing his dirty work?

I think basically it comes down to faith in people power. it's not something the electorate would stand for Trump fans or not.
And the thing about the Electorate in America is, most of the buggers have guns.

Trump is only going to be there for 4 years

That Chinese bloke is going to be around / in charge untill he snuffs it (?)

At the end of the day the Chinese cannot be trusted

They dumped covid on us and eat cats and dogs

And will
Probably invade Taiwan in the next 10 years (?)

Yes exactly

Dodgy mob ;)

There are a couple of subtle developments today.

The first is that Team Trump are claiming that the letter they sent to Harvard was sent by mistake. Presumably, Trump was a bit surprised by the strength of the push back, and needed to shift the blame.

Second, the Supreme Court have just issued an injunction banning the removal of more people under the Alien Enemies Act. Apparently, this was done in a very unusual way and the analysis is that they didn't trust the Trump administration to keep any promises they had given. Also, it was a 7-2 split decision. The two hardline right wing headbangers, Thomas and Alito, were the only ones to support Trump. We might be seeing a fracturing in the Supreme Court's patience with Trump.

Pick a side, we'll all have to eventually
Russia is key to containing China.
Trump knows this.
That is why he is saying nice things about Putin, even if he doesn't mean them.
Russia wanted good relations with Europe Unfortunately the EU decided otherwise.
