Hey folks, hope you are having a nice Bank Holiday?

Could anyone offer me advice on this before I buy anything please? I attached the hoses for a friend's washing machine a little while back and now she has bought a dishwasher.

She asked me to have a look and there are no more inlets or wastes. I think this two parts are what I need to buy for her but would any of you kind folks mind checking I'm on the right path please?

Hi endecotp, thank you I would not have known that detail. I guess I should look at the whole waste then. Forgive the daft question, but could I just remove the bit of the waste connected to the sink and replace it with the bit from the mcalpine waste that has the two waste bits on it (spigot?) I'm trying to touch as little as possible.

Cheers

Quite simply, No. The Twin Connector is designed to work in the vertical plane, and sit on top of an open standpipe, (it has an air vent in the top, and will leak water everywhere if fitted horizontally.)
Look at the McAlpine Trap Endecotp has linked to above, that should replace the existing Trap without too much difficulty, and provide the require two waste connections for you.

As for the water supply, AVOID the plastic Y piece's like the plague, they will almost certainly leak! Use one of the brass versions, e.g. https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-y-piece-connector-3-4-/612fa or https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-y-piece-connector-3-4-/636fa
