We have got the first few hot days of summer coming up.
I thought people might want to share their best cooling tip.
Everyone is different, so what works for one might not work for another.
On the very hottest days, by which I mean over 30C, occasionally I get far too hot and really need to cool down. So, I have a lukewarm shower. But I don't dry off much with a towel. Instead I stand in front of a fan to dry off. I feel completely different afterwards and it seems to drop my core temperature considerably for several hours. I read this tip on an Australian website. Most years I don't need to do this, though. The last time was when we had that record temperature day in 2022. The article also said do not be tempted to have a cold shower to cool down because that will make you shiver and you will end up even hotter.
The worst tip I ever followed was drinking hot tea. It just made me much, much hotter.
