Afternoon, can anyone recommend an angle grinder disc to cut an iron fence please. Much appreciated thanks.

As per @lostinthelight 's post, more information would be useful.

If use are only cutting about 25mm round, a thin inox blade might suffice.

They are super thin and cut faster.

Being thinner however means that you cannot abuse the blade as much. You really do need to make sure that you make a clean cut

Wear appropriate PPE etc.

So you are looking at approx 38mm depth of cut (according to my first google search).

Regardless of blade, can you insert wedges to mitigate the risk of the blade getting snagged? Sorry I have never done a horizontal cut in vertical post. Hopefully someone else might be able to offer better advice.

These were my disc of choice since they first came to market opps but since my Son gave me a DeWalt one to try I use nothing else now.
DEWALT DT42335TZ-QZ Metal Cutting Discs 115mm (4 1/2") x 22.2mm 10 Pack - Screwfix https://share.google/L1S0cwkD0ZoFOvJzM
Op would need the 125mm version to suit their cutter to cut 40mm post from 4 sides. I would think its box section unless they are antique...

Another vote here for the very thin discs. I have used Aldi ones as well as other cheap makes from Toolstation and find them very good

Cheap eBay ones have been fine for me, but check out the inflation!

Same ones now £42!

I was given a box of parkside ones from Lidl and I just couldn't wear them out...the downside was they hardly marked the metal so promptly ended up in the bin :)
