My daughter needs some bulbs to go on her boat, she took one to an electrical store, but they were stumped. Can anyone ID this bulb? Not sure if it should have a glass cover, I would have thought it would. It's 35mm tall, bayonet pins are symmetrical, there are 3 LED's on the top, and 5 around it.

A straight forward bayonet cap with eight surface mounted diodes, but I could not tell you the size of the cap or the operating voltage as there is nothing to compare it with.

Is there anthing stamped on the silver bit, there often is, if she has other lights on the boat there may be ,markings on them or on the cover/glass of them

It will either be 12 or 24v, on a boat. For the actual voltage, you will either need to look at the habitation batteries, or check the base of another such lamp. You could do likewise for the wattage, but I would make a guess at 5watt. If the new lamp doesn't work when plugged in, try rotating it in the socket, 180 degrees.

And - yes, the cover/diffuser is missing, that might have had the bulb rating on it.

Need to dig out the manuals and any wiring diagrams for the boat. Find all the breakers and fuses and check.

A multimeter will be an invaluable tool to have / learn to use.

NB I'd not bet on there being any cover / diffuser missing https://www.sunshinesolar.co.uk/Item/BA15DBW-2 looks very very similar to my eyes.

Apparently all the lights on one side of the boat don't work, so possibly a circuit fault.

Yep, I wouldn't bother chasing a new lamp, until at least some lamps work on that side. Borrow lamps, from the working side, to double-check. Each side, might be separately fused, and the fuse blown.

I would go to any Caravan outlet and ask their parts dept if they recognise the bulb and/or can recommend a replacement.
It looks to me like a 12 volt bulb.

I agree, a caravan place would be able to supply the bulb, if 12v, but I certainly would not risk making an assumption about the voltage - that needs to be established first....

The OP has only mentioned it's a boat, and it has several lights at each side - that suggests perhaps a narrow boat, and so likely 24v.
