Hi.

Does anyone know how to replace the double glazing unit in a metal framed door?

I can't see how to dismantle the door to remove the unit.

Thankyou

You don't need to dismantle this type as its a shuffle glaze, flick out the gasket on the inside of the door, this loosens the glass up then flick out the top and bottom bead, then slide the unit or 'shuffle' it to one side and remove it

Thanks. The metal strips at the top and bottom will just bend out if I lever them out?

Thankyou. Is there a special replacement gasket I would need. (Better buy that first )

It's likely to be a wedge gasket but there are a varying degree of thicknesses so it's best to pull a section out and take some measurements, maybe pull some of the gasket out from the top beads as they won't have suffered degradation from the suns UV where the others might just crumble. You can buy sample bags for 99p from eBay and other suppliers that you can try and then by it by the metre once you know which one you want

Brilliant!! Thanks for taking the time to reply. Really appreciate it.

Hi. Sorry to bother you again. I have had a bit of time to look at my door. The gaskets came out and bottom, but the glazed unit wouldn't shuffle sideways far enough. Have you come across this before?

Thankyou

Ok so the unit does shuffle sideways but just not enough, have you tried shuffling both ways as one side rebate may be deeper

I have. I think I'll just order the new unit and use more force when I replace it. Thanks again
