FWIW I fit the plug that Blup reccomended to all our heavy duty tools, 110V transformers etc. when having to replace broken plugs.

I am guessing that this site has affiliate deals with large companies such as S'fix, and that the latter is not playing "ball". I don't have a dog in this fight, I use both this site and the store, but ultimately, we as regular users are not subject to all of the adverts that non-members have to endure. If recommendations on this site benefit 3rd parties, I don't have a problem with this, free to access site, asking for a kick back. That said, not being able to click on hyperlinks is a tad annoying.

I have a 25m masterplug extension lead with a plug that looks like. I would ask the customer to plug it in whilst I was up the scaffolding. Some days it was fine, other days it would not work. I eventually realised that the "strain relief" was so rigid that it was breaking the internals of the cable.

Out of desperation, and absent of having a spare plug with me, I trimmed the end back and cut away the rigid part of the plug. It has been fine since then.
