Really?Unsure at the moment

Nah not a chance, I acted responsibly and without any bad intentions. They all said that themselves. They even thanked me for doing so and wished everyone had my attitude. All that was said was if this happens in the future to simply drop a text to one of the managers so they are aware of it for the next days planning arangements.Really?

It was a good mate of mine who rang me to cover his call, unfortuately he got ****ed and took a chance of him not getting called out that night as it had been quiet over the last few weeks with very few call outs. He rang me as he knew I would have his back and help him out. He told them at work the truth where he could have said he was sick, he opted to come clean and took his punishment.Makes sense

Light bulb changers just don't thinkWhat is the protocol if somebody really is sick? I have never thrown a sickie in my life. Some of us are incredibly honest. But wouldn't it just have been easier for him to do that.

Yes but it would have been a lie, he is a man of principle and he told the truth. I would have done the same. What is the protocol if somebody really is sick? I have never thrown a sickie in my life. Some of us are incredibly honest. But wouldn't it just have been easier for him to do that.

Reported. Some do.Light bulb changers just don't think

We have an unwritten rule not to dobb your mates in.I suppose I would never be in that situation. But I am the one who always tells the truth no matter what the consequences. And I have never dobbed anyone in.

If you are sick, you only have to ring the night manager who would go to the next standby man. What is the protocol if somebody really is sick?

And, its only a light job! Nothing too heavy...It is a passion the world over, we take them for granted without realising the importance of them, they go unoticed because we are so efficient in our work, without street lighting and the extraordinary team that install and maintain them, the world would be thrown into chaos and anarchy. They are the backbone to civilisation and law and order. I am proud to be the top street lighting engineer in the world.
