Reform will stop the small boats within two weeks ...

It all has the potential to become very dangerous, depending of course on ones opinion and view.

For example, if Carswell did proclaim as per your post, what exactly does he mean by that? Is he using Abdul as a catch-all name for illegal migrants? Or does he mean his preference would be for every non white person to be shown the proverbial door? For all those actually named Abdul who live here, were born here, who positively contribute etc, what are they to make of such a statement?

If you look just a bit more closely at some of the rhetoric, it doesn't take an expert to unpick what's actually going on.

Did anyone see the news clip yesterday of the youngish chap and his mates putting up union jack flags in a small English town? At first he was asserting it was all him, a truly grassroots thing. But then, with a bit more pressing from the reporter, he admitted he had been in the company of Yaxley-Lennon the night before and it was him that provided the flags to be erected. Whether this part was true or he was (trolling?) I can't say.

He also said something like 'these people need to bow to the flag as we do.' Do we? I certainly don't bow to any flag. Then, of course, the line got trotted out about them needing to understand we don't stand for things like girls and women being targeted, raped etc. Eh? Tell that to the thousands of Brits who do abuse women each year.

As we've touched on before, if Reform do get in and manage to remove all the illegals, who gets targeted next if we're still not living in utopia?

I suppose if they do get in and ramp up things like stop and search again, I'd better get ready (as a dark skinned male) to get stopped now and again to show my papers.

So yeah, whilst I'm all for much tougher controls around immigration, there could be a real risk to some of our hard fought for freedoms. And, if I'm being honest, I would trust Reform even less than I trust the established parties, and that's not saying much ;)
Windrush is too easily forgotten.

We have an asylum seeker crisis, a small boat crisis. Tougher controls are needed, but this country is known for being fair and tolerant, we are in danger of losing that with a Reform govt.

On this, I will agree with you.

Maybe, but as the other parties have shown they can't or won't tackle immigration, is it surprising Reform are popular?

What you actually mean is that the small boats and asylum crisis is difficult to solve….and Nigel is standing there on the sidelines bullsh1tting that he can sort it out in 10 minutes.

And people are stupid enough to believe it.

No I suppose I’m not surprised people are so easily conned

Of course it's difficult, plenty of things are. Unsurprisingly, many people will think it's worth giving Reform a go at it. If we don't want to leave the ECHR we could just ignore it, as other countries do.

(Some posts have been removed)
The assertion, direct or otherwise, is that migrants are the primary detrimental reason for this country's socioeconomic ills.

I would assert that's blatantly not true, however to some (many?) it increasingly appears to be accepted as fact.

I can't be bothered looking for data to back the following up, however I'd imagine whilst it may or may not be safer for women and kids to walk around in the countries you list, that doesn't mean they're any safer once behind closed doors.

Great rhetoric, but you need to follow the thought process through.
I have. I don't think Nigel is without his faults, and if he gets in his government might be a disaster, but I think it's worth giving him a chance, and plenty of people agree. Do you believe current levels of immigration should continue indefinitely?

There's a LOT more to running the country than sorting immigration.

I myself have said in previous posts, it would in way be good if they (Reform) gain power, because then it'll be up to them to deliver.

I suspect even if they do get it, it'll be more of the same. 12 months later, things not ostensibly better, Reform saying they're just in the door and it'll take time. Nige saying how they're being blocked left right centre on doing anything substantial re the boats and that's why the numbers aren't dropping.

It'll be same sh1t, different day. On that I'm relatively confident. For those looking on Farage as the second coming, they're in for a rude awakening.
