Recently, our inside door to the porch has been sticking. I assume it is due to the unusually hot weather, and after many years in this house, it has never happened before. I can't be sure whether it is the frame or the door itself expanding. I can see no cracking anywhere. I can, of course, sand down either the door or the frame. Any ideas, please?

It’s one of those things, if it’s sticking at the bottom the door may have dropped on the joints.

But it’s not unknown for the frame to move, hinges to wear or screws come loose.

And we have had particularly damp weather over the last few weeks.

Any ideas, please?

Well over a decade since I laid my workshop slap, it has developed a crack, down the middle, and the door to it has also begun to catch. Likely the cause is the very dry summer we have had. Might you have a similar issue of movement?

Thank you both for your helpful suggestions.
The door hasn't dropped on its joints and it isn't rubbing on the carpet beneath. I have checked the hinges and the screws are all still tight and no hinges moving. There are no gaps or apparent movements anywhere on the frame.
I shall do a bit of sanding where the surfaces of door and frame show some wear and, as you both suggest, yes the changes in weather do make things move. Fortunately, nothing more serious then, I hope.
Strangely, over the twenty-odd years we have lived here, nothing like this has happened, but we have seen noticeable weather changes lately.

One of todays planned tasks, was to plane some off the bottom of that door, so we've just been out to mark it for planing, and...

The door opens and closes sweet as a nut. My guess is that my assumption was correct, it was movement due to the exceptionally dry weather we've had recently, but followed by lots of wet.

Fortunately, in my case, the door is not rubbing on the carpet beneath, so just a bit of sanding on the side which rubs against the frame.
