I have recently moved into a new house & I seem to have big chunks missing out of my door frames, as if the previous owner had a big dog with a taste for door frames! The wood has been painted over with gloss but some of the marks are about 4 inches x 3 inches big and about 3/4 inch deep. Would I be able to fill them & then sand em down? Without them being noticable? as I dont really wanna get new frames.
Thanks in advance for your advice :)

You can get thin timber to put on your door frame but door stop would have to be re-position & door edge planed or chop out the damaged area with a sharp chisel, glue the new timber & pin it temporary. When dry remove the pin & sand/planed.Failing that you can get filler from car accessories such as P38 Filler which come in a big tin.
