Hi i am looking for some ideas to update the interior of my polycarbonate roof that is looking a bit shabby in the daylight

I dont have loads money so a new roof is out of the question

I was originaly going to insulate the clad with plastic but putting wooden beams across will prove a issue i think

So another random idea i have had is just going direct to current roof with cladding like this from wickes https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-PVCu-White-Interior-Cladding---167-x-2500mm/p/9000281529

but looking for some inspiration and of course the impending criticisim :-)

I think the two things I'd be concerned about are the lack of space at the window heads and the obvious loss of light form above. Plus you are unlikely to end up with anything robust (it will waft and diaphragm) owing to the lack of space for anything rigid.

I take it you are adding stuff to the underside of the poly, rather than replacing it?

Hi noseall

Yes agree about the lack of headheight space hence didnt wanna attempt beams etc and yes to the underside is where im looking to go
i was thinking to glue on cladding and then seal all around the edges stopping any moisture just not sure if this will work tho

I'd take the blinds down and glue 25 mm of pir insulation to the underside of the conservatory with expanding foam, then glue the hollow soffit glued to that.

Hi catlad glue the insulation then glue the cladding on top is that what your saying

Yes, its all lightweight stuff. You will need to use props to hold up the insulation while it goes off, or use Hippo mastic or something similar.

great thanks for the advice have you actually done this yourself

I've glued lots of insulation/plasterboard with expanding foam, just make sure the surface you are bonding to is clean.
