I do have 2 thermostats. One is in the master bedroom, which I believed controlled the bedroom and en-suite. The other one is in the hallway (I have a 2 bedroom flat - I believed this covered the rest of the house, including the main bathroom, as the bathroom is much closer to the hallway thermostat).

Now I'm wondering if the master bedroom thermostat controls the main bathroom? I'd feel like such an idiot if this was the case!!

Might be worth checking the temperature of that thermostat and see if it's calling for heat, if it is I'd say you've found your "fault"

So this morning, the towel radiator come on. None of the other radiators in the house have come on. Thermostat is set for the heating to come on at 19 degrees. Current house temperature is 20 degrees. So on the plus side, the towel radiator works. On the down side, what the hell?

Perhaps the other TRVs are still closed, for your earlier experiment?

I re-opened them when I realised it did nothing... now I know why
