We have had a flat roof installed on our new extension and original roof has now had the tiles replaced. Hoerver, I am concerned that I can clearly see a roof batten and roofing felt. It just doesn’t look right and the builder is saying it’s fine.

How does it compare with the other side of the valley. Not an expert but with such a steep. pitch I would not have thought it would be a problem.

The other side of the roof the tiles come down to the flat roof and non of the roof construction is visible which is what I expected.

As I say I am not an expert in this field but I have asked the mods to move your post to the roof and gutter section where you may get a more definitive answer.

Amateurish.

The kicker batten or angle fillet is meant to be fitted to the ply tray, prior to the roofing material going on, so that the roofing material can cover it.

Hi apologies not a roofing person, the builder is telling me this is fine, so are you saying its not? I don't believe it is as there is no other part of the roof where we can see a batten and felt.

Tiling battens are for support and fixing to, not for gap filling. If that was my roof, I would not be happy until the roof was finished to a fully acceptable weatherproof standard.
What is the flat roof covering material? If resin bonded glass fibre, the roofer can easily bring another length of matting into play to seal the whole lot in.

The only thing holding it there at present is friction. It will rot over time.
