We are doing an en-suite bathroom and looking to use rigid vinyl planks for the flooring. One of the brands Quick-step states not to screw the toilet directly to the floor but to leave an expansion gap. Our builder sayes what we can do is leave a gap around the screws to allow movement, but I've read that even fixing a cabinet to the wall causes problems so I'm confused. What can we do, can we install the toilet on top of the LVT and just leave room round the screw holes?
