Hi,

I am a total n00b and I thought it would be easy to put in a dishwasher until I came to fit the water inflow... and then I was wrong.

The washing machine water outlet is too far away from where the dishwasher is and the pipe wont stretch that far, so I was going to add it to the cold inflow pipe that the sink cold water pipe runs off. I bought a Y connector and its to big.. so I unscrewed the cold water tap pipe but the dishwasher hose is too big.. go figure as the Y connector ha.

The pipe fitting below is 2cm, but the dishwasher is the standard I'm guessing. I have attached photos. The Y connector is 3/4"

What options do I have to get water to my dishwasher.

Thank you :)

How far away is your washing machine outlet, you can get hoses with extra length, I know a 2m hose is available.
Definitely 2m or less away. If I get an longer hose, how do you fit that to the dishwasher as the water hose is built in I think.. its not like a washing machine where you have the two ends to screw if you get me. Its a HISENSE HS663A90WUK if that helps.

Thanks :)

You should introduce a Tee into the copper supply pipe and extend from it to an appliance isolation valve .

Thank you! Would it be one of these? https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-compression-washing-machine-valve-tee-15mm-x-15mm-x-3-4-/60723

So I can get this into my n00b head correctly. If I unscrew the part circled in green below and add the tee valve in its place? Then on the tee valve; add the dishwasher on the one outlet and then on the other, add the tap valve (below) and then tap pipe onto the other tee outlet? Sorry if being dumb af here.

thank you again

Not quite. The thread of the isolation valve in your pic ( what the tap tail screws onto) is 1/2 inch BSP.
The washing machine / dishwasher hose thread is 3/4 inch BSP.
The Tee in your link is not correct. An equal Tee can be used but it would have to be fitted onto the copper, after the isolation valve is removed. You then need 2 short lengths of copper ,added into the Tee. One would have the isolation valve added to it ,and you add an appliance isolation valve to the other.
