My 1971 Marley Modern ridge tiles and mortar have come to the end of their lives and in the Spring I'll either be bedding new ridge tiles with mortar or doing it the dry way. I'll decide when I see what's under the ridge tiles, what kind of a batten system I have under there.
I watched a bunch of videos on dry system and my question is, when the adhesive membrane is rolled on top, then the tile placed on top and attached with a plastic union which is screwed (with a holding clip) onto the batten running under the membrane . Obviously the union is not waterproof, rain goes through then runs down from under the tile. But what about that screw through the membrane? Is there a risk of a water leak? Thanks.
