• Outcomes: Cancer and heart disease survival rates improved significantly, and waiting times were brought down from years to weeks by 2010.

2. Education and "Human Capital"​

• School Standards: Massive investment led to thousands of rebuilt schools and the "London Challenge," which turned some of the country’s worst-performing schools into some of the best.
• University Access: The UK remains a global leader in higher education, with more young people from disadvantaged backgrounds attending university than ever before.

3. National Infrastructure & Technology​

• Transport: Major projects like Crossrail (Elizabeth Line), the High Speed 1 link to Europe, and the regeneration of the London Docklands were funded during this period.
• Digital: The nationwide rollout of high-speed fibre broadband, which now underpins the UK's massive digital economy.

You are missing the point JP. Pre Blair and Brown the country ran on very little debt. Go back far enough and you will find times without debt and without inflation. Debt is very bad. The left lives off debt, the right lives within its means.

From the videos we have seen so far, Renee didn't 'block' the road. The second lane wasn't 'blocked' at all and traffic, which included some of the ICE cars, was flowing freely. The ICE operation had been taking place more than a hundred yards away from where she was parked. After the operation was completed, some of the ICE agents drove off in their cars, presumably to their next operation. They drove straight past Renee and were totally unimpeded. So, she wasn't obstructing them during the operation, because it was taking place more than a hundred yards away. And she wasn't obstructing them after they had finished the operation, because we can see them driving past her without any trouble whatsoever.

Although you have got that totally wrong in regards to Renee and Becca, you have inadvertently stumbled upon an interesting story.

Trump actually is using 18 U.S.C. § 372. But not against Becca Good. He is using it against the mayor of Minneapolis and the governor of Minnesota. Trump is trying to imprison his political opponents for making political speeches condemning the use of ICE agents in their state. For those who cannot see the big picture, Trump's USA is hurtling towards authoritarianism. All in plain sight.

Historically, some of the largest increases in national debt have occurred under right-leaning governments, often due to tax cuts or global recessions, while some left-leaning governments have overseen periods of high growth that reduced the debt ratio. Fiscal 'means' are usually dictated more by global economic cycles than by which party is in power.

But the Tories increase debt too:

1. The Thatcher and Major Years (1979–1997)
The Early 90s Recession: Under John Major, the budget deficit reached a then-peacetime peak of nearly 8% of GDP in 1993/94.

Structural Deficits: By the time the Conservatives left office in 1997, they were borrowing roughly 3.4% of national income just to cover day-to-day running costs, not just for long-term investment.

2. The Post-2010 "Austerity" Era (Cameron, May, Johnson, Sunak)
The most striking evidence against the "debt-free Right" comes from the last 14 years.
The Debt Doubled: When the Conservatives took over in 2010, the national debt was roughly £1 trillion (about 70% of GDP). By 2024, it had more than doubled to over £2.5 trillion (nearly 100% of GDP).

The federal investigation is into whether Renee and Becca had any ties to groups which are legally monitoring the ICE agents. It is a mud throwing exercise.

But it is utterly irrelevant to the point being discussed.

Yesterday, you seemed to be making progress. You said that, from the videos you had seen, there was no evidence that Renee had actually obstructed the agents. You admitted that you couldn't explain how somebody parked more than a hundred yards away could be attempting to obstruct the agents. But then you argued that, because you couldn't think of another explanation why she was parked in that way, this meant that the agents would have had a reasonable suspicion that she must be attempting to obstruct them.

Stop being silly. You’ve not been objective on this from page 1. By ignoring all the facts you don’t like and amplifying the ones you do, you’ve settled on an idea that isn’t too far away from: masked gunmen murder innocent woman.
