Why are there no old school heating engineers?

BG tend to do a powerflush as a matter of course - Don't get me wrong a properly performed powerflush is excellent and it certainly works well and should leave the system nice and clean, it just isn't needed in a lot of cases IMHO and usually adds a significant costs too and the better quality hardware isn't cheap either.
It does suit BG timescales for a system install though and of course it does mean they can add that not insignificant wedge onto the bill.
Some of the very hard accumulations are a combination of limescale (which is hard) and magnetite (which is soft)
Some of the modern limescale removers dissolve it over time but are not acidic.
I suppose, if water is still flowing, they would eventually remove hard deposits, and the magnetite could be captured in a magnet filter.
I have not had this problem since X200 came out, so haven't tried it.
