skint and no heating

I'm confused. You say that 3 years ago your boiler failed, and you've been living there ever since with no heating or hot water because you've not been able to afford to replace it, but not long after that catastrophe you were asking about replacing your entire CH system

And a couple of weeks ago you posted this:

You say

But less than a year ago you said

and yet after the freeze event which caused pipes to pop out and the whole boiler casing to fill with water you posted this, showing that you were running the boiler:

and said nothing about the freeze and flooding.
You are something else, the poor bloke is down on his luck but you want to out him...OMG

Maybe he wanted to keep it private and he now feels like he can talk about it...maybe.

if he thought about my posts he would realise that I was trying to figure things out , I have a shower I got from a friend , its a controller and a rain head , , that i can fit myself .

I did stay with my x gf aswell when if happened, but it ended so I need to get so.e heating / water into house .

before boiler went i was thinking of getting it upgraded, but was told I had to change my 8mm pipe to 15 , because boiler was cycling .

if I can save the boiler I will but thi k its dead , its a f rated boiler and took around 1 hr to climb 1 degree .

i have been saving , just not 3k for a boiler , and if I need radiators and pipes , then that's more

I wanted a price for a full system as I dont k ow what condition the pipes are in , so was feeling about for prices , and I wasn't staying in house at that time as I was working away , and of course the boiler hasnt been used since , and I didn't want anyone to know my situation. the boiler is rusted Inside .
I will.when I get a chance take pictures of its damage , and post to get thoughts
The only way you're going to know that for sure is to obtain ideally 3 x quotes from reputable gas engineers, even 2 x to ensure you're not just basing it on a single quote. Folk on here (the gas experts) might be able to give a ballpark to replace it, however there are variables that could make the actual price higher (or lower) that they won't be able to factor in over a forum.

And if by 'a full system' you mean replacing everything (boiler, pipework, rads) the above is even more true.

All the best with it.

ive just been approved for a 3k loan with my bad credit , its 49.9% Apr over 36 months , comes to 4.470 .

maby I can use it to get the boiler fixed (if fixable) that I have or just get that one replaced with same type and forget a combi

Get a quote from British Gas, might be a little more expensive but the credit terms will likely be better.

yes I own it ,there is no chimney , the boiker that is in just now is a glowworm fuelsaver 3 , the front panel.is off as it filled with water , the 2 pipes coming from storage tank in loft came out with being frozen .
Any chance of getting a gas fire? Cheaper to run than electric. One in the living room would help, some heat would circulate round the house. Failing that a free-standing propane heater.

Phone your local council. Today. Now. There ARE schemes for low income households in exactly your situation, i.e. NOT on benefits.

I don't know about Scotland, but in England you can have a brand new from-scratch heat pump heating system fitted all without paying a single penny.

Heat pumps work, they're amazing. We have one. Don't believe anyone who says they don't. Either they're talking complete rubbish or possibly had experience of one from lots of years ago.

Do it now, don't go with loan sharks.
