That's the standard grant. There are also grants that pay the entire cost, only for working low-income households. They're administered by local councils (in England at least). You need to ask your local council, they're not advertised and probably don't feature on their website.

If you contact the likes of Energy Scotland, CAB, local council for advice and pointers at least one of them might be able to offer or direct you to a solution or part solution.
Bear in mind most on here are England based, often different rules/schemes up here.

Wrong. Such a thing DOES exist, you just need to find it and apply. It's all administered by the local councils.

I went in last year to ask if any goverment help was available, but he was useless and said I didnt quality because i make enough cash above the threshold said call energy co.panies to ask ,

The OP has been provided with numerous possible routes for enquiry.I'll stand by my point that it's unlikely anyone on here can include a link to a Scottish based scheme whereby 100% of the entire cost to replace will definitely be met, even more so if not on benefits.
In where? I'm not talking about the benefits agency or whatever they're called up there.
This is from your local council, and is completely separate from all benefits.
In England it's available to households with total income under £30k, which is way above the level at which you'd get other benefits.
If you're earning over £30k then you shouldn't have a problem paying for it yourself. If not then look at what you're spending your money on, not at claiming stuff for free.
May be a cheapo combi with a couple of radiators ( to start with) add other rads in the future

You should get the cost of a new one back within a few years just from energy savings alone. Plus all the parts that won't need replacing, or would be covered under warranty if they do.
Plus of course the peace of mind of knowing that it will actually work.
The local scrappie will give you a few quid for it too. Although beware of asbestos from that sort of age, probably best just to let the plumber take it away.
