Hi, I’ve installed quite a few composite decks on timber frames and they’re really straightforward if the frame is solid. Make sure your joists are close enough, around 400 mm centres, or the boards will flex. Always leave proper expansion gaps and use the clips or fasteners recommended by the manufacturer, as mixing brands causes problems later. Stick to reputable brands like Trex, TimberTech, or Fiberon. The cheap boards fade and can feel hollow. Other than that, once your frame is square and level, laying the decking is smooth and low maintenance. You’ll be glad you went with composite.
