Trump Calls On Starmer...

When you actually watch and listen to Trump, he often contradicts himself more than once within the same speech. Yesterday he was talking about various countries not sending military kit however he added something along the lines of 'I mean, we've won, but still it would be nice to think they'd help, no?'

I'm no supporter of Trump, cannot stand the guy, but at least he makes his mind up and cracks on. Iran has been a thorn in the sides of most countries for decades, and somebody needed to tackle them. It ought to have been an international effort, especially as so far it has affected so many countries. It was fairly obvious that shipping passing through the Straight would be threatened, and stopped by Iran.

I wonder if an overland pipeline bypass, might be pratical?

Starmer ought to have well known what was coming, and had our military in readiness for it. At least one Type 45 ought to have been down there, in a defensive capacity, not sat in port, in the UK, needing a week to be got ready.

We owe him F all, especially after (only weeks ago) he insulted our Afghanistan veterans and war dead.

Starmer should delete his number and block his calls.
We owe him as our ally which like it or not they are our biggest and most powerful one that we have.

You mean attention span of a goldfish TACO Trump? FFS, lol.

They needed to start a war in the Middle East? Why?
It ought to have been an international effort
Why would the rest of the world want to get involved in Trumps' unilateral fugg-up?
especially as so far it has affected so many countries
Yes Trump and Bibi have single handidly fugged it up for pretty much the whole globe.

Except to the idiot that started the war.
Starmer ought to have well known what was coming
Not even US congress knew.

The EU are meeting today regarding possible deployment to the Hormuz, doubtful they'll arrive at the right decision because there's little chance of unanimity but if they do, Starmer will fall into line.
It seems to be slowly dawning on them that they have a duty to protect shipping and safeguard freedom of navigation. They've already had an operation in place since 2024 (Aspides Operation) because of the Houthis (Iran) blowing up ships.

I see Trump on the news saying Starmer had offered to send our two aircraft carriers. Even the news reader pointed out that although we do have two aircraft carriers, one was undergoing repairs and will be doing so for the foreseeable future and the other was on its way to the Arctic. Trump’s just an out and out liar when it suits him.

With friends like that, who needs enemies?

He's put up the cost of our petrol, our heating bills, our mortgages, our defence budget and increased the risk of terrorist attacks.
All because he is a whining big baby of a man.

I agree with all of that too but we do need them

It's right that Starmer keeps the UK out, he has too much on his plate already and doesn't have the skills to lead us in to war. On top of that we probably have 10,000 sleeper cells ready to start blowing us up, currently living here already. Having said that, a little paperclip shuffling to show some willing might be useful, just to maintain the relationship. Perhaps in exchange for a trade/tariff free deal

HMS Prince of Wales is being prepared for a 'possible deployment' according to the Ministry of Defence.

Starmer is keeping the UK out, for now, because the UK military is in a shambles....it's been broken down and down...

Harry, I have heard this so many times from people discussing 'right-wing' politicians:

"I can't stand so-and-so but at least he gets the job done".

In your post, after saying that, you go on to give an accurate and favourable appraisal of what Trump is doing. Two questions arise: 1) If person does a good job, especially a matter-of-life-and-death job, is it important that you must like that person? 2) Do you realise that when you say you "can't stand" Trump, what you cannot stand is the media-created impression of Trump, by the very media that Trump rightly despises and wishes to expose for its lies?
